I'm surprised my blog remembers me....

Well, it's been a while. I hope everyone had a good and safe holiday break. We went to the mountains - Blue Ridge, GA. It was a very enjoyable trip. Two of our kids drove over from NC and spent the time with us - we missed the two who couldn't make it. Why is it more and more difficult to get everyone together as the years go by? I need to pour a big glass of wine and mull that one over. At least the two that didn't make it are safe and sound and were surrounded by friends over the holidays.

We are thinking about moving to the mountains so the trip was for information (to see if we thought we'd like living there)and a closer place to meet up with the kids. It didn't take me long to confirm what I was thinking....which was, Yep! I could do this. It also didn't take long to begin a *must have* list of things to look for. First of all, a fairly level grade to any place we'd consider. After the steep drive up to the cabin we rented, my legs were shaking so much I couldn't stand up. It was a lovely area and a lovely cabin. I'll try and post pictures later.

So, we're home. Decorations are almost packed up. I hope the old saying about it being bad luck to leave your tree up after Jan.1 isn't true. If it is, we are in for one hell of a year. Carnival has started up and the King Cakes are everywhere, so it's not going to be easy to lose those extra pounds. Not easy at all.

And....tonight BAMA plays Texas for the national championship. Roll Tide Roll!
